What is a cooling water pump- Principles and Applications
Published:2022-12-13
The cooling water pump is suitable for conveying clear water or liquid with physical and chemical properties in the high-pressure operation system, such as water supply for high-rise buildings, boiler water supply, heating ventilation refrigeration cycle, bathroom and other cold and warm water cycle pressurization and equipment supporting, fire protection system and other transportation or pipeline pressurization. The cemented carbide seals made of different materials ensure no leakage in the transportation of different media. For example, the cooling water pump made of integral stainless steel is suitable for chemical, food, brewing, pharmaceutical, textile and other industries.
With the increasing influence of the cooling system on the engine performance, the research on the thermal load and reliability of the key components of the automotive cooling system has become a global research hotspot. The cooling water pump is the main component for conveying cooling water in the closed cycle cooling system of the automobile engine. Its performance not only affects the power and economy of the automobile, but also affects the life of the whole machine.
In the cylinder block of the automobile engine, there are many water channels for cooling water circulation. These water channels are connected with the radiator (commonly known as the water tank) at the front of the automobile through water pipes, forming a large water circulation system. A water pump is installed at the upper water outlet of the engine, which is driven by the fan belt to extract the hot water from the water channel of the engine block and pump the cold water into it. There is also a thermostat next to the water pump. When the car is just started (cold), it is not started, so that the cooling water only circulates in the engine, not through the water tank (commonly known as small cycle). When the engine temperature reaches above 95 ° C, start it, the hot water in the engine is pumped into the water tank, and the cold air blows through the water tank to take away the heat when the car is moving forward.
The pulley drives the bearing and impeller of the water pump to run. The antifreeze in the water pump is driven by the impeller to rotate. Under the action of centrifugal force, it is thrown to the edge of the water pump shell, creating necessary pressure, and then flows out of the water outlet or water pipe. As the antifreeze is thrown out, the pressure in the impeller center drops, and the antifreeze in the water tank is sucked into the impeller through the water pipe under the pressure difference between the pump inlet and the impeller center to realize the reciprocating circulation of the antifreeze.
