DC pump and AC pump are two common types of water pumps, both of which are mechanical devices that transport or pressurize liquids. When the DC pump is working, the coil and commutator rotate, while the magnetic steel and carbon brush do not rotate. The alternating changes in the current direction of the coil are completed by the commutator and brush that rotate with the motor. AC water pump refers to a water pump with an AC power source, which transmits the mechanical energy or other external energy of the prime mover to the liquid, increasing the energy of the liquid. There are significant differences between the two in practical applications.
1、 What is a DC pump
DC pumps usually use direct current (i.e. batteries or batteries), which is 12V and 24V. When the water pump is working, the coil and commutator rotate, while the magnetic steel and carbon brush do not rotate. The alternating changes in the direction of the coil current are completed by the commutator and brush that rotate with the motor.
(1)DC pump type:
Brushed DC pump; Brushless DC magnetic drive isolation water pump; Brushless motor DC pump
(2)DC pump features:
Brushed DC pump: When the water pump is working, the coil and commutator rotate, while the magnetic steel and carbon brush do not rotate. The alternating changes in the current direction of the coil are completed by the commutator and brush that rotate the motor. As long as the motor rotates the carbon brush, wear will occur. When the computer water pump runs for a certain period of time, the wear gap of the carbon brush will increase, and the sound will also increase. After several hundred hours of continuous operation, the carbon brush cannot play the role of reversing.
Brushless motor type DC pump: The motor type brushless DC pump is composed of a brushless DC motor and an impeller. The shaft of the motor is connected to the impeller, and there is a gap between the stator and rotor of the water pump. If used for a long time, water will penetrate into the motor and it is easy for the motor to burn out.
2、 What is an AC pump
AC water pump refers to a water pump with AC power supply. A water pump is a mechanical device that transports or pressurizes liquids. Concept It transfers the mechanical energy or other external energy of the prime mover to the liquid to increase the energy of the liquid. It is mainly used to transport liquids, including water, oil, acid-base liquid, emulsion, suspended lotion, liquid metal, etc. It can also transport liquids, gas mixtures and liquids containing suspended solids.
Advantages and disadvantages of AC pumps:
(1) Advantages: The utility model is convenient to use, has a large number of manufacturers, is cheaper, and has a longer lifespan.
(2)Disadvantages: Large volume, high noise, high weight, inconvenient carrying, high requirements for protection level, and the possibility of electric shock if used improperly.
3、Difference between DC pump and AC pump
(1)Different input power sources: The DC motor of the water pump inputs DC power, while the AC motor of the water pump inputs AC power, which is divided into single-phase and three-phase.
(2)The working principle is different: AC motor adopts AC power supply voltage to enter the stator winding, generate rotating magnetic field in the air gap between the stator and rotor, generate induced current in the rotor winding, and make the rotor operate under the force in the stator magnetic field; The power supply voltage of a DC motor is a DC input, commonly used technology for control. It can perform stepless speed regulation, with adjustable levels and feedback signals. It can also achieve closed-loop speed regulation and fast braking, resulting in relatively better output stability.
(3)Different motor structures: DC motors have simple principles but complex structures; The principle of AC motors is relatively complex and the structure is relatively simple.
(4)Different uses: The DC motor of the water pump has a wide range of speed regulation, while the AC motor of the water pump has a relatively small range of speed regulation.
(5)Different output powers: Relatively speaking, the power of the water pump DC motor is smaller than that of the AC motor, especially the brushless motor, which can solve many shortcomings of the brushless motor.
(6)Commutator: Usually, a DC motor with a commutator and an AC motor without a commutator.
4、How to choose between DC pump and AC pump
From the current usage situation in the market and customer feedback, it is considered that DC pumps are better than AC pumps, but in reality, the selection still needs to be based on the actual situation. The benefits of choosing a DC pump include:
(1)DC pump has high safety. The human safety voltage is below 36V, and the 5V-24V DC pump voltage greatly improves the safety of the water pump, avoiding safety accidents such as electric shock caused by damaged AC pump wires. For areas with unstable power or voltage, the configuration of a power adapter (transformer) provides stable voltage to ensure the continuous and stable operation of the water pump, and the corresponding battery can still be used for power supply in the event of a power outage, Don't worry about the fish being deprived of oxygen due to power outage and water pump shutdown.
(2)Long service life, the material used for the DC pump is a pure copper motor, which adopts advanced brushless DC technology and the latest process design. It has a working life of over 30000 hours, and the motor temperature is low, with little change in long-term operating temperature
(3)Low noise, the DC pump uses a unique shock absorption and noise reduction design, and is fixed with elastic suction cups. Not only is the pump body stable, but it can also effectively reduce noise. The maximum sound noise does not exceed 35bd
5、 Customized requirements for DC pumps
DC pumps can be customized according to customer application scenarios. If customers have requirements for the performance of the water pump, they can provide the main technical parameters and find a specialized manufacturer for customization.
